Frequently asked questions…

Does it drip? Why... and for how long?

To be effective, our product must penetrate into hard-to-reach areas such as folds and weld points. Corrosion is often caused by moisture, which is why our rust inhibitor is formulated to be fluid enough to penetrate where water can infiltrate. Once applied, the product seeps into these critical areas, and any excess typically drips off within 24 to 48 hours of application, with little risk of dripping thereafter. Rest assured that Krown remains an environmentally friendly solution.

When is the best time of year to have my car sprayed?

Protect your vehicle now, even if it has never been treated. Corrosion is more active in spring and summer due to rising temperatures. However, an annual application of Krown gives you corrosion protection for 12 months, no matter what time of year you choose to do it.

How do you know where to spray?

If your vehicle has never been treated, the ideal time to spray it is now. Corrosion is most active during the spring and summer months due to rising temperatures. Nevertheless, applying Krown annually, no matter the season, ensures 12 months of corrosion protection.

Doesn't washing the vehicle defeat the purpose of treating it? (Won't the product wash off?)

After a Krown rust protection treatment, your vehicle is thoroughly washed. We remove any excess product from the windows and painted surfaces where it isn’t needed. However, the rust inhibitor remains firmly attached to the metal surfaces and cannot be removed with water and soap.

What sets Krown apart from other rust protection products?

Many companies use coatings to cover areas prone to rust. While these products may seem effective, their corrosion protection is often insufficient. For example, these coatings can be damaged by abrasions or scratches, allowing moisture to seep in and remain trapped against the vehicle’s surface, accelerating corrosion instead of preventing it. In contrast, Krown’s product is self-healing and remains active, continuously repelling moisture from metal surfaces. Unlike coatings, Krown penetrates into tight joints and weld points, providing more comprehensive and effective protection. Additionally, Krown lubricates moving parts of the vehicle, such as door locks, brake cables, and power antennas—an advantage that coatings cannot offer.

Can Krown be applied even if it’s raining or snowing?

Absolutely. Krown products are designed to be applied effectively regardless of weather conditions.

Do I need to bring my car back every year for a Krown application?

To ensure optimal protection for your vehicle, it is crucial to treat it annually. This is especially important due to the increased use of powerful abrasive products to clear roads in winter. Make sure to have your vehicle treated every year.

Does Krown offer a corrosion warranty?

Krown offers warranties for eligible new and used vehicles. We believe our warranty program is the most comprehensive in the industry.

What is the difference between Krown and underbody rust coating products?

Some underbody rust coatings use outdated technologies that apply a wax or tar-based coating on exposed surfaces of your vehicle. While these products may look neat, their effectiveness in protecting your vehicle is limited. Unlike these coatings, Krown can penetrate into weld joints, weld points, and hard-to-reach areas where rust often starts. Traditional coatings can be damaged by abrasion or scratches, allowing moisture to infiltrate and become trapped against the vehicle’s surface, speeding up corrosion. Many may perceive Krown as a simple undercoat or rustproofing product, but its unique formulation provides protection that traditional coatings cannot match.

Can you spray a hybrid vehicle?

Can you spray an electric vehicle?
Yes, it is entirely possible to spray an electric vehicle. At Krown Vaudreuil, we use a dielectric product specifically designed to treat hybrid and 100% electric vehicles safely. This means our treatment does not conduct electricity and does not interfere with the electrical components of the vehicle. Therefore, it is perfectly safe to protect your electric vehicle from corrosion with our Krown treatment.
Can you wash the underside of the vehicle?

Occasional washing of the underside of your vehicle can be beneficial and can be done at any time after application, though it’s best to let the product penetrate and spread for a few days to reach hard-to-access areas. We recommend avoiding hot water, degreasers, or high-pressure washing as these methods can diminish the product’s effectiveness over time. It’s suggested to clean the underside of the vehicle once or twice a year with Krown Salt Eliminator. This product is specially formulated to work with our rust inhibitor and will remove salt without compromising the rust protection.

What is Krown product?

Krown is specifically designed to slow down or prevent vehicle corrosion. This petroleum-based product is enriched with rust inhibitors and contains no solvents. In fact, Krown is environmentally friendly, solvent-free, toxin-free, non-flammable, non-reactive, and non-corrosive. It can be applied in any weather conditions, remains active, and is not subject to WHMIS regulations.

Can you spray an aluminum vehicle?

Krown is optimized for maximum effectiveness with steel. It also provides protection for aluminum, especially at contact points between different metals. Additionally, Krown helps protect your vehicle’s electrical components by repelling moisture and leaving a fine protective layer of oil.
